Townhalls - can anyone with the join link attend?

Can someone please advise if anyone can join a Teams Townhall, as long as they're sent the join link?

We are going to use MS Teams for our webinars moving forward, and notice the Townhall product is closest to how we currently conduct a webinar - as a broadcast with no audience interaction other than a Q&A function.

I just want to be sure there aren't any limitations on people joining - as these will be offered to our clients and we won't know if they use Teams in their business.
