A video editing tool developed by Microsoft, designed to make video creation easy and accessible for everyone.
Hi, Oliver Hauss
Since shorter videos still transcribe, but more slowly, this is probably not a hardware issue. The long duration may be exposing an app-cache problem, a difficult section in the audio, or a temporary transcription delay.
Besides the solutions provided by the Q&A Assist, here are some suggestions you can try:
Repair the desktop app through Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft Clipchamp > Advanced options > Repair. If that does not help, use Reset. Save or back up the project first, since Reset clears local app data.
Try the same project in Clipchamp through Microsoft Edge. This uses a different app environment and can help determine whether the desktop app’s local data is causing the failure.
Split a copy of the video into shorter sections, for example 20 to 30 minutes each, and generate captions section by section. If one section fails, it may contain damaged audio timestamps, a long silent area, or another media issue. Long projects can also be split to isolate a failing section. As an alternative, extract the audio as an MP3 or WAV file, place it in a new project, and try transcription there. Auto-captions support audio assets containing speech.
If all sections remain at 0%, it is best to report it through Clipchamp Support with the approximate failure time and video duration.
