Refund request for unused Windows 11 Pro license

I purchased a Windows 11 Pro license directly from Microsoft for $199.99 because I believed I needed a new license for a clean Windows installation on my laptop. However, during the installation Windows automatically activated using the license already embedded in the computer's firmware. I never entered or used the new product key that I purchased from Microsoft. I would therefore like to request a full refund and cancellation of the unused Windows 11 Pro license. Please verify that the purchased product key has never been activated or redeemed.

Hello

License purchase is typically not refundable, so you will not find the option to do it in your account. However, since this is a unique scenario, if you contact Microsoft billing support, explain it and they usually will make an exception for you.

To get help, open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Windows" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.
