Cannot activate my office account

I am trying to access Excel document that I urgently need to update.

I was told to update ,my operating software which I have done but still cannot edit my files they are read only

I want to talk to a human to resolve this issue as it is URGENT

If you are using the Office apps on a Windows PC:

Open Word.

At the top right of Word, log out of Office.

Restart (not shut down) your PC, then log back into Office, is your Office licence/subscription then recognized correctly.

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, is your Office licence listed correctly there, or if that is a subscription, check the expiry date listed on your subscription, is that listed correctly.

If you are using the Office apps on an Apple Mac device.

What version of Microsoft Office do you have, is that a subscription to Microsoft 365 or a standalone version of Office like Office 2019, 2021 or 2024.

At the top left of your Desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?
