A family of Microsoft presentation graphics products that offer tools for creating presentations and adding graphic effects like multimedia objects and special effects with text.
This behavior usually points to a save or file corruption problem rather than the rotation setting itself.
Try this sequence:
- Save the presentation locally first
- In PowerPoint, go to File > Save As.
- Choose This PC or OneDrive.
- Select Browse, choose a folder, name the file, and select Save.
- This confirms the file is being saved properly.
- If using PowerPoint for the web, check where it is opened
- PowerPoint for the web saves automatically whenever a change is made.
- If the file is opened in the browser, there is no Save command.
- If the presentation has protection such as password, digital signature, or IRM, it must be opened in the desktop app.
- Create a new presentation and reuse the slides
- If changes like rotation are not retained after reopening, the file may be corrupted.
- Create a new blank presentation.
- Import the slides into the new file by using Home > New Slide > Reuse Slides.
- Then save the new presentation and test whether the rotation persists after closing and reopening.
- If saving to OneDrive, verify sync is working
- Make sure OneDrive is signed in and working correctly.
- If save problems continue, save to a simple local folder first to test whether the issue is related to cloud sync.
If the problem happens only in one presentation, corruption is the most likely cause. If it happens in every presentation, the save location or app environment is more likely involved.
