I am up to date on my Mac OS and Word or Excel. When I go to look at my account in the help area I get a blank screen. However, if I just log in I can see my subscription and that my licenses are up to date. I've lost edits to two documents since my subscription renewal.

Hi Linda Netzel,
I'm sorry to hear you've lost edits to a couple of documents. Since your subscription appears active and you're able to see the license information when signing in online, it may be worth checking whether the issue is related specifically to the Office app profile rather than the subscription itself.
As a quick test, please try these following checks:
If saving works normally in the new macOS profile, that would point to a user profile, preference, or permission issue within the original macOS account rather than the document itself.
You can also try saving a document to a different local folder (such as Desktop) and confirm that Word has permission to access files under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders.
Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

Since this started after the subscription renewal, the most relevant fixes are to refresh the Office license, then fully quit and sign back in to Word or Excel.
If the app opens files but will not reliably save edits, that can also happen when Office is in reduced functionality mode. On macOS, Microsoft says this began affecting some users on July 13, 2026 and is resolved for most users by updating macOS first and then updating Office. The minimum supported versions listed are macOS 12 or later and Office version 16.83 or later.
