New Outlook 2024: How to Change Default Calendar Duration to 60 Minutes?

I upgraded from Office Professional 2021 to Office Professional 2024 yesterday.

The most noticeable change for me is Outlook. While I understand I can switch back to Classic Outlook, I actually prefer the layout of New Outlook.

However, I can't find a calendar setting that was available to me previously.

Current setup:

  • Calendar Time Scale: 60 minutes
  • New calendar entries default to 30 minutes (e.g., 8:00–8:30 AM)

In Outlook 2021, I could set the default duration for new calendar entries to 60 minutes. Changing the Time Scale in New Outlook only changes the calendar display; it does not change the default duration of a new entry.

Has the option to set the default event duration been removed from New Outlook? If not, where can I change the default from 30 to 60 minutes?

It appears that there is no option to customize the default duration of meetings in the new Outlook. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-ca/answers/questions/5725007/how-to-set-default-duration-for-new-appointments-t . The thread offers some existing suggestions that you can vote for (in the Microsoft feedback portal).
