Move a form from a group

Good day Reed, 

Once a form is moved to a Microsoft 365 group, the group becomes the owner of that form. Microsoft Forms supports moving a form from an individual account to a group, but it doesn't support moving a group owned form back to an individual account. 

Before deleting the group, please make sure you have saved the forms and exported any response data you need. 

To keep the form, you can create a copy under your business account: 

Sign in to Microsoft Forms > Under My Groups, open the group that owns the form > Open the form. 

Select More form settings and choose Collaborate or Duplicate > Select Get a link to duplicate and copy the link. 

Open a new browser window, paste the link and sign in with the business account that will own the form > Select Duplicate it. 

Verify that the copied form appears under My Forms. 

Repeat these steps for any additional forms you would like to keep. 

Please note that duplicating a form copies the questions, layout and settings, but it doesn't bring over existing responses. 

If you also need to keep the response data: 

Open the original group owned form. 

Go to the View responses tab. 

Select Open results in Excel. 

Save the workbook to a secure location outside the group. 

Confirm that all responses are included. 

Notes: The duplicated form is created as a new form with a new response link and existing responses remain with the original group owned form. Before deleting the group, update any locations using the old form link and verify the new form by submitting a test response. 

Once you have confirmed that all required forms have been duplicated and all response data has been exported, you can safely delete the Microsoft 365 group.
