I have created a MS form and when I edit a post in facebook to include the link it doesnt work

I understand the form link stops working when you add it by editing an existing Facebook post. This may be related to Facebook’s handling of edited links rather than the form itself.

First, open the link directly in a private or incognito browser window. If the form opens there, try these steps:

Try posting from a web browser if you previously used the Facebook app, or vice versa.
Clear the Facebook app/browser cache, then sign out and back in.
As a quick test, please create a new Facebook post, set the audience to Only me, and paste the Forms link into it. Then select the link to confirm whether the form opens correctly. This will help determine whether the issue occurs only when editing an existing post.
Paste the complete link, including https:// on a separate line and wait for Facebook to recognize it before publishing.
If the link still does not work, use Facebook’s Sharing Debugger, select Debug, and then Scrape Again to refresh Facebook’s stored link information. (Disclaimer: The attached link above is not a Microsoft website, it is the official site of Facebook)

If the issue continues, could you also clarify what happens when the link is selected: nothing happens, an error appears, or the form page opens incorrectly?

What I should have mentioned is that there is a QR code for the MS Form and that works in the FB post

Thank you for clarifying. Since the QR code opens the form successfully, this suggests that the form itself and its access settings are working. The issue may be limited to how Facebook processes the clickable link in the edited post.

May I know whether you have tried any of the troubleshooting steps suggested above?

(Disclaimer: The attached link above is not a Microsoft website, it is the official site of Facebook) - **Yes have tested this and it came back with "**Bad Response Code URL returned a bad HTTP response code" . **Have tried rescraping, but still the same issue. **I’d also like to note that the link appears to work for some users but not others. Initially, I suspected it might be related to the mobile operating system — it wasn’t working on iPhones but worked on Android devices — however that theory was disproven as it worked on an iPAD Thank you for assisting me with this

Thank you for providing the test results. This appears related to how Facebook processes or retrieves the link, rather than the form’s general availability.

I suggest creating a new Facebook post rather than editing the existing one or continuing to use the QR code as an alternative.

Paste the complete link on a separate line, wait for Facebook to recognize it, and then publish the post without editing it afterward.

Copy the link and open it directly in Safari, Edge, or Chrome, or select Facebook’s Open in browser option if available.

In the meantime, please report the issue through Facebook > Help & support > Report a problem, and include the affected link and a screenshot of the error.

Use the response link generated from the form, not the browser address bar or a collaborate link.

Open the form in Microsoft Forms.
Select Collect responses.
Set who can respond:
- Anyone can respond for a public Facebook audience.
- If that option is not available, it is only available in supported account types and may require a school or work account setting.
Select Copy link and paste that link into the Facebook post.
If the link is long, turn on Shorten URL and use the shorter link instead.
If Facebook still does not open it correctly, share the form with a QR code or Embed it on a webpage and post that instead.

Important checks:

Do not use the Collaborate or duplicate link for respondents.
If the form is intended for people outside an organization, internal-only response settings will block access.
Social media sharing from Forms is only available for a personal Microsoft account.
