I have confirmed the subscription, updated Office, ran the license-removal tool, and restarted—but Excel still reports “License Not Found.”

Thanks Darren. Tahoe's latest version is 26.6.2, so make sure all updates on the OS side is caught up first.

After that, if you continue to get the error, see if you can update your Office apps. Open Word for example, click on the 'Help' tab >Check for Updates. Make sure you choose Update All when prompted. Let the process run through, can take a bit time. See if that works.

Otherwise, use the Update method in this article: https://support.microsoft.com/support/known-issues/unknown-error-0x0-license-not-found-error-microsoft365-macos?apid=ets

If it still doesn't work, please uninstall the apps. then reinstall.

Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the subscription. Click on the 9-dot icon on the upper left > More apps.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.

If it still doesn't work, download the updater https://support.microsoft.com/office/office-for-mac/troubleshoot-microsoft-autoupdate-in-microsoft-365-and-office-for-mac?apid=ets

Since Office is already updated, the license-removal tool has already been run, and the Mac has already been restarted, the next supported checks are:

    1. Verify the Mac is running macOS 12 or later. The current fix for 0x0 / License not found requires at least macOS 12.
    2. Confirm the Office apps were updated from the correct source:
      • If Office was installed from microsoft.com, open Finder > Applications > Microsoft AutoUpdate and install all available updates.
      • If the apps were installed individually from the App Store, open App Store > Updates and update them there instead.
    3. Confirm the correct account is being used for activation:
      • Sign out of Office and sign back in with the Microsoft account that owns the Microsoft 365 subscription.
      • If prompted, choose Sign in with another account.
      • Check whether the subscription appears under the account at https://account.microsoft.com/services.
    4. If the issue is specifically an activation loop after license reset, open any Office app and sign in again with the email account associated with the Microsoft 365 for Mac license.
    5. If the Mac previously had a one-time purchase license and a Microsoft 365 subscription on the same machine, Office may still be trying to use the older license. In that case, after license removal, sign in again and choose the Microsoft 365 for Mac license if prompted.

If Office still shows License Not Found after those checks, the remaining supported path in the available guidance is to use Microsoft community/support channels for this issue.

I am having the exact same problem. I have been online with their support and they basically said “we are working on it” and then hung up. I’m pretty sure it was an AI bot of some sort because the language had weird pausing. Anyway- I have tried all the fixes possible - going through 2 hours of different attempts and still no solution has been found. I
