Category: Microsoft Partner Center / Windows App Developer Registration / Identity Verification

Hi team,

I am attempting to complete my individual developer registration on Microsoft Partner Center for the Microsoft Store. I am currently stuck at Step 2: Identity Verification due to a persistent bug in the mobile web verification handoff (au10tix.com).

Here is a detailed breakdown of the issue, the behavior, and all troubleshooting steps I have already performed across multiple mobile devices.

The Problem / Steps to Reproduce

  1. On desktop, during Partner Center Identity Verification, I was presented with a QR code to complete document verification on a mobile device.

I scanned the QR code, which opened a verification URL hosted on au10tix.com.

When the page loaded, the browser displayed a permission prompt requesting Location access instead of Camera/Microphone access.

Upon approving Location access, the au10tix.com web application immediately failed and displayed an error stating that it could not find or access the camera or microphone.

At no point did the au10tix.com web application actually request Camera or Microphone access from the browser.

Troubleshooting & Workarounds Attempted

I have spent several hours attempting to resolve this, trying every standard troubleshooting step without success:

Tested Across Multiple Mobile Devices: I tried completing this workflow on multiple separate Android mobile devices to rule out hardware-specific issues. The exact same behavior occurred on all devices.

Tested Multiple Browsers: I tested the link in both Google Chrome and Samsung Internet. Both browsers exhibited the exact same issue: only requesting Location permission and then failing to find the camera.

Manually Force-Enabled OS & App Permissions: * I opened Android System Settings → Apps → [Browser Name] → Permissions.

I manually set Camera, Microphone, and Location permissions to "Allowed" at the operating system level.

I then re-scanned the QR code and reloaded the page.

__Cleared Site Data & Cookies:__ Cleared site data and cache for `au10tix.com` and `microsoft.com` domains before retriving new QR code links.

Despite granting full OS-level permissions to the camera and microphone, the au10tix.com web flow still fails instantly after accepting the Location prompt, reporting that no camera or microphone could be found.

It appears there is an API/permission request mismatch in the vendor script (requesting Location API instead of MediaDevices.getUserMedia()), creating an inescapable loop for developers trying to verify their accounts.

Questions / Requested Support

Is there a known issue with the au10tix.com mobile web handoff script?

Can a Microsoft Support Moderator please assist in enabling direct desktop document upload for my Partner Center session so I can upload my government ID directly from my desktop browser?

Thank you for your assistance.
