microsoft 365 Personal plan unable to add one more computer total 3

how add one computer to my 365 Plan PERSONAL that has only two computers currently. Even Have my serial number of new computer and cannot add to get Word

Hello

You don't need to add the device first, and definitely not by serial number, because adding by serial number is only for Microsoft-branded devices, such as Surface laptop/tablet, xbox, etc.

You can just go ahead and install directly.

Please go to https://www.office.com

Sign into the Microsoft account you used for the subscription. Click on the 9-dot icon on the upper left > More apps.

Then on the upper right, click on "Install apps". This will now download the installer file. Once downloaded, click on the file to install. It will install the Desktop version of the apps for you then.

I am offered the word free version but my plan 365 offers my 2 computers that I paid and have plan paid still can add one more computer. Also when I look at my plan I cannot remember the other 2 computers and afraid if I delete these computers all added in 2017, I will not be able to add them back ...

As I said Victoria, you don't need to specifically/manually add the computer.

All you do is installing the office product directly, and the process itself will then register the device in your account.

I have shared the installation steps. Did you try that? Did you run into any specific issue following those steps?

When did the pin ask come up?

When you tried to open that web site and logging in?

Or when you tried to install?

Or when you tried to log into the app after installation already happened?

The timing of the ask matters, so if you can provide that info, it will be great.

Also, can you share a screenshot of the pin code ask please? Thanks!
