Finger touch wake-up cannot be enabled unless the device hardware and firmware explicitly support Wake-on-Touch.
Supported behavior in Windows 11 is:
- Wake-on-Touch is optional and only available on devices that opt in.
- If supported, Windows shows a "Touch the screen to wake" toggle in Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touch.
- If that setting does not appear, the device does not support the feature in its current OEM configuration.
- Using a pen to wake the screen is not supported by the Wake-on-Touch feature.
For a supported device, finger wake works by touching the screen with a finger while the device is in sleep/standby. Validation guidance expects a single-finger tap to wake the device, and the wake reason can appear as Input Touch in a SleepStudy report.
Since the current behavior is stylus wake only and finger tap does not wake the screen, the practical check is:
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touch.
- Look for Touch the screen to wake.
- If the option exists, turn it on.
- If the option does not exist, finger touch wake is not available to enable through Windows settings.
