Can i retrive a recording if i did not click the record button ?

Thank you for sharing what happened during your Microsoft Teams meeting.

If the recording was never started, there is no recording file available to retrieve or recover after the meeting.

When a recording is started successfully, Teams displays a notification to all participants confirming that the meeting is being recorded. If no one selected More actions (…) > Record and transcribe > Start recording, and automatic recording was not enabled, Teams would not have created a recording file.

The minutes displayed in the upper-left corner show the duration of the meeting. They do not indicate that the meeting is being recorded.

As a final check, you can open the meeting from your Teams calendar and select Recap, or review the meeting chat, to see whether another participant may have started a recording or transcription. If a recording was created, it should appear there after processing.

For future meetings, I recommend confirming that the recording notification appears after selecting Start recording, or enabling automatic recording in the meeting options beforehand.
