Hi,

Instead of repairing now which sometimes helps, do this as a sureshot solution, Shruthi:

Here is how to use it:

Go to https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC to open the Get Help App.
When the tool opens, select Yes, and then click Next.
Choose the option to uninstall Microsoft 365, then follow the steps.

Get Help has the Microsoft 365 SARA tool open

The tool will automatically detect your Office version and remove Microsoft 365 completely using a PowerShell window. It may take 10 to 15 minutes.
Once done, restart your PC.

Reinstall Microsoft Office as the next step from the https://account.microsoft.com/services page.

The screenshot shows PowerPoint opening the file in Protected View and then failing with an app error. Use this order:

Select Repair Now in the PowerPoint error dialog.
If the file still does not open, check whether Windows blocked the file:
- Open File Explorer.
- Find the presentation file.
- Right-click it and select Properties.
- If Unblock appears near the bottom, select Unblock > Apply > OK.
- Try opening the file again from File Explorer.
If PowerPoint or Word will not start normally, start the app in Safe Mode:
- Press Windows + R.
- For PowerPoint, type powerpnt /safe
- For Word, type winword /safe
If the app opens in Safe Mode, disable add-ins one at a time:
- Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
- In Manage, select the app add-ins or COM Add-ins, then select Go.
- Clear one add-in, select OK, then restart the app normally.
- If the app opens, the disabled add-in is the cause.
If the app does not open in Safe Mode, repair Office from Windows.

If the problem is only with one presentation, the file may be corrupted or in an unsupported older format. PowerPoint 2007 and later cannot open files saved as PowerPoint 95 format until they are re-saved as .ppt in an older PowerPoint version.
