Our Team needs to be able to customize reporting dates for the MS Planner Premium when using the AI Report. However we only see last week, last 2 weeks, etc. Is there a way to turn this on? Thanks!

No. Planner Agent report generation only supports preset reporting periods from the dropdown, such as Last week, Last two weeks, Last month, and Last quarter. There is no documented setting to enable custom reporting dates for AI reports.

Available options in the Reports tab are:

  1. Open Reports.
  2. Use Reporting period or Choose reporting period to select one of the available preset ranges.
  3. Optionally use Show more options or Provide more details to describe what the report should emphasize.
  4. Generate the report, then edit the resulting Loop canvas manually if a different presentation is needed.

If custom date ranges are required, that capability is not described for Planner Agent reports in the available documentation.

    Hi @Grissell FRASCINO

Based on your description, I understand that your team needs to select custom reporting dates when using AI Reports in Microsoft Planner Premium, but only predefined date ranges are currently available. You would like to know whether there is a setting to enable custom date ranges.

Currently, there is no tenant or Planner setting that enables a custom date picker for AI-generated reports. The Reporting period menu is limited to these predefined options:

    • Last week
    • Last two weeks
    • Last month
    • Last quarter

    Ref: Access Planner Agent

Please refer the workaround for a custom reporting period

In Reports > Show more options > Provide more details, enter the exact dates you want Planner Agent to use. Microsoft states that custom instructions can specify the report’s date range and other reporting requirements.

For example: Generate this report using activity from August 1, 2026 through August 15, 2026 only. Include tasks completed, tasks started, overdue items, schedule changes, risks, and next steps during this period. Exclude activity outside these dates.

Select the closest predefined reporting period that fully covers those dates, then include the exact range in the instructions. Because this is an AI instruction rather than a hard date filter, review the generated report to ensure it did not include activity outside the requested period.

Ref: Frequently asked questions about Planner agent

If the workaround is insufficient, your team can submit or vote for the request through the Planner Feedback Portal, or use Planner > plan menu > Feedback.

Also verify that the plan is shared with a Microsoft 365 Group and that the person generating the report has a Microsoft Copilot license. Planner Agent is enabled by default for eligible shared premium plans, so there should not be a separate administrative switch for the reporting-date options.

    Thank you for your patience.
