Chat history not migrating to new platform

Having the same issue here. It's been several days, the app on my Mac doesn't even know me now. I had created memories etc, and all gone, unless you click the link, then it seems to be all there. Not sure why it's taking so long, funny thing is, when you ask new co pilot, it says that other users are having the same issues.

I have the banner at the top of my page, but when I click "here" to access history, it goes to previous copilot for about 3 seconds and then immediately goes back to the new copilot experience. So, while I can see the historical chat list for a few seconds, I can't access them. I was able to access them last night in sidebar copilot, then Edge updated today and now the sidebar copilot also updated to the new copilot experience. This is very frustrating and I can't find a timeframe for when the migration will be complete. I had a chat with Microsoft support last night but nothing was accomplished.

Same here. I keep submitting the same feedback hoping it'll eventually reach the right people and get the current team to take this issue seriously (as if 🙄but we'll see) I’ve also been repeatedly suggesting that users should be allowed to choose which Copilot interface/version they want to use since the new version is extremely clunky; it simply doesn't provide the same "smooth" experience that the original Copilot did (if that makes sense)

That may partly be because not all of my files, Projects, and chats have synced properly yet, so I'm trying not to judge the new version too harshly until I know I'm actually seeing the "full experience".

After all, when I asked ChatGPT to help me troubleshoot the problem, one of the possibilities it pointed out was that "Microsoft's Copilot architecture is currently undergoing a fairly substantial transition. The new Copilot Notebooks are intended to bring together chats, files, pages, meeting notes, and other content into a more unified workspace...Microsoft has indicated that some of these features are being rolled out gradually."

I don't get why they're doing it this way. It seems beyond stupid. BUT I'm hoping once this "rollout phase" is complete and my content finally syncs properly (🍀), Copilot will once again feel more like the tool I'm used to.

Then again, I don't actually use Copilot to write things for me. (Personally I think AI still has a long way to go for ghostwriting 😂) But I do rely on it for is helping me edit and revise my own writing—catching things I've completely overlooked, suggesting alternative ways to phrase something, helping me identify weak areas, etc.

And that's where this new version has been super annoying.

Even when I ask the new Copilot to help me revise something, it often produces these bulky, awkward blocks of text that don't resemble the kind of editing assistance the original Copilot provided. Now, instead of helping me refine what I've already written, I frequently end up fighting with it just to get it to preserve my original voice, ideas, and focus on the specific areas I actually need help with. It's been making the revision process of my writing so freaking frustrating.

Quite frankly for now...I'm just giving up for the day 😒

I dk; maybe if enough of us keep submitting the same feedback someone will eventually take notice and either fix these issues or give us the option to use the interface that actually works for us (like I said earlier, I keep suggesting that last part in the feedback/suggestion area 😏🤔)

I mean... probably not 😂🙄 But a girl can dream, I guess 🤷‍♀️

Until then, I REALLY need my former Copilot back 😭

OMG I feel seen. No warning today, working with CoP across 3 platforms. My phone was still showing everything and the CoP on my phone said "don't worry, it's all with me and I updated weeks ago". OMG, no then the phone gave me the same response. I use my CoP for my writing and journalling. This is crazy. I reached out and got to customer support on chat; they hung up on me.

Copilot chat history missing after migration to new Copilot experience

Following migration to the new Microsoft Copilot experience, a significant portion of my historical chats have disappeared.

I used the same Microsoft account on both Android and Windows.

Before migration, the chats were visible on Android.

After migration, Android and Windows now show the same reduced history.

Missing conversations include long-running and substantial threads containing important personal information and work product.

I need this escalated as a data-loss/history-migration issue and would like confirmation whether the missing chat history still exists in Microsoft's systems and can be restored.
