My New Outlook calendar is not syncing with Teams. Is there a resolution to fix this?

Hi Mel,

First, please confirm the same Microsoft 365 account is signed into both apps. In new Outlook: profile picture (top right) > My account. In Teams: profile picture > Settings > Accounts.

In new Outlook, go to Settings (gear icon) > Calendar > Events and invitations.

  • Select Calendar, and then choose Events and Invitations.
  • Select the Add online meeting to all meetings checkbox.
  • From the Choose a meeting provider list, select your default online meeting provider. This list includes all providers relevant for your account. Outlook on the web - select default online meeting provider
  • Select Save.

Fully sign out of both Teams and Outlook, then sign back in to refresh the authentication tokens.

Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps, find Microsoft Teams, open Advanced options. Try Repair first.

Please note that, this wipes app data and signs you out, but fixes deeper corruption that cache-clearing alone sometimes misses.

Additionally, you can delete it manually with these steps:

If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon on the taskbar, and then select Quit.

Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key +R.

In the Run dialog box, enter the following path, and then select OK.

%userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams

Delete all files and folders in the directory.

Restart Teams.

However, if this is affecting multiple users, please reach out to your IT admin and ask them to verify Exchange Online licensing and calendar sync permissions at the tenant level.

I hope this provides enough clarity and helps you stay inform with your current situation.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

In new Outlook, there is no separate Teams Meeting add-in to install. The Teams meeting option is built into the event window.

To restore Teams calendar integration in new Outlook for Windows:

    1. Make sure Teams and new Outlook are both signed in with the same work or school account.
    2. Make sure the new Teams client is installed and in use.
    3. If those requirements are already met, reinitiate the integration:
      1. Close Outlook.
      2. Right-click the Teams icon in the toolbar and select Quit Teams.
      3. Start Teams and sign in.
      4. Start Outlook.

If the issue is specifically that the Teams meeting toggle is missing in new Outlook, the steps above are the documented fix.

    Also note:

    • Teams and Outlook calendar integration is supported for work or school accounts.
    • The Teams Meeting add-in for Outlook Desktop does not work with Outlook.com accounts, and it is not available for Teams for home or small business using an Outlook.com account.
