For Windows 11:

Right-click the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
Expand Other system tray icons.
Turn Off the app icon that should no longer appear in the system tray.

There were a couple of uncommon apps in my Show Hidden icon menu that I never use and wanted to remove them from the Hidden icon popup. I just uninstalled the apps and of course that removed then, but I'd like to know how to just remove an app from the Hidden icon popup if I want to de-clutter. The AI answer seems to be for removing from the task bar and I know how to do that, but it doesn't work for the Hidden menu. The hidden apps I uninstalled did not show up on the system tray list.

I’m sorry for the delayed response, as I had an emergency. Anyway, you mentioned that you’ve already uninstalled the apps, but they still appear as hidden icons in the system tray, correct? If so, they may simply be leftovers after the uninstallation, as some apps don’t completely remove all of their components when they’re uninstalled. In this case, you can try resetting the notification icons on the system tray by following the steps in the page below and see if it removes them.
