I need to save space on my iPhone and backup my photos to one drive. How do I know they are backed up and I can delete them from my phone? I have auto backup on the OneDrive app but my one drive on laptop doesn’t show up to date photos so I can’t be sure.

How did you check them on the computer? I suggest that you launch a web browser and go to https://www.onedrive.com and check there to make sure everything is backed up from the phone.
