ChatGPT cannot search my Microsoft 365 Personal OneDrive – Microsoft Graph MSA support

I am a long-standing Microsoft 365 Personal customer and have been using OneDrive since at least August 2018. I currently have approximately 38.8 GB of data stored in my 1 TB OneDrive.

I want to securely connect my existing personal OneDrive to ChatGPT so that, when I authorise it, ChatGPT can search and read my own documents for me.

I have successfully connected my Microsoft account to ChatGPT using the Microsoft SharePoint connection. Microsoft has authorised the connection, so authentication itself appears to be working.

However, when ChatGPT attempts to search my files, Microsoft returns this error:

“This API is not supported for MSA accounts (no addressUrl for Microsoft.MicrosoftSearch,False).”

I understand that my Microsoft 365 Personal account is a Microsoft Account (MSA), rather than a Microsoft 365 work/school tenant.

Before I consider creating a Microsoft 365 Business account and migrating years of OneDrive data, I would like to establish whether there is a supported Microsoft Graph method that would allow ChatGPT to search my existing personal OneDrive.

In particular, could you please clarify:

1. Does Microsoft Graph currently provide a supported search API for files in a personal OneDrive/MSA account?
2. If Microsoft Search API does not support MSA accounts, can the OneDrive/DriveItem search endpoint (for example /me/drive/root/search(q='...')) be used with a personal Microsoft account instead?
3. Is there any permission, consent scope, application configuration or alternative Graph endpoint that would allow an authorised third-party application such as ChatGPT to search my personal OneDrive?
4. If this is technically possible, what Microsoft Graph endpoint and delegated permissions should the application use?
5. If it is not possible with Microsoft 365 Personal, would Microsoft 365 Business/OneDrive for Business support this functionality?
6. If Business is required, which Microsoft 365 Business plan would provide the necessary Graph/Search functionality?

I am not asking for ChatGPT to have unrestricted access to my Microsoft account. I only want to grant it permission to search/read my OneDrive files when I request it.

I would particularly like to avoid migrating approximately 38.8 GB of existing data and changing an account I have used for many years if Microsoft already provides a supported Graph API route for personal OneDrive.
