Launching Microsoft Edge on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Microsoft Edge simply won't launch. It shows up in the background processes but nothing more.
It started yesterday, after I installed the latest update.
I tried removing the update but the issue was not fixed.
I tried repairing it, same thing.
I tried safe more and another account on the computer, same thing.
Anyone else having the issue?
Latest update was: Windows 11 Insider Preview Quality Update (26220.9202)

Since Edge appears as msedge.exe in background processes but no window opens, the documented causes to check first are leftover Edge processes, graphics acceleration, a corrupted profile, and a broken installation.
Try these in order, restarting Edge after each step:
msedge.exe process. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --user-data-dir="%TEMP%\edge-test-profile"
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge\User Datamsedge.exe.Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\msedge.exe key there, that can be related to the launch failure described in the Windows known issue.Based on the steps already tried, the most useful next test is the temporary profile command. If that works, the issue is likely the Edge profile rather than the Windows update itself.
