Hello, I have an intermittent mouse problem: when I left‑click the mouse, sometimes a single physical click gets registered as a double‑click by the system. For example, I left‑click on an item and it turns into a double‑click. This creates chaos. The misbehavior will happen several times in a row and then go back to normal for a while.

I am using a Huawei mouse. This issue occurs both in wired mode and with its 2.4 GHz wireless receiver. The same mouse works perfectly fine on other computers, so there is no hardware defect with the mouse. I am running Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview 25H2, OS build 26220.9202.

I have already tried:

adjusting the double‑click speed setting;
removing mouse drivers and restarting the computer to reinstall them;
disabling USB selective suspend in power options;
testing multiple native USB ports without hubs or docking stations;
clearing hidden ghost USB devices inside Device Manager.

I understand how disruptive it can be when a single click is intermittently registered as a double-click, especially after you have already tried several relevant troubleshooting steps.

Since the mouse works correctly on other computers and the behavior occurs with both wired and 2.4 GHz connections, could you please confirm:

Does the same behavior occur with a different mouse on this PC?

Did it begin only after installing build 26220.9202?

Does it happen throughout Windows, including the desktop and File Explorer, or only in certain applications?

Is any Huawei mouse software, macro utility, or input-remapping tool installed?

Testing another mouse on the affected PC would be especially helpful. If another mouse behaves the same way and the problem began after this build was installed, it may indicate an issue with the current Insider build or the PC’s input environment rather than the mouse itself.

Please also check for a newer build under Settings > Windows Update. If the behavior continues, press Win + F to report it through Feedback Hub. Include the build number, the troubleshooting already completed and a recording of the problem if possible. I'm on Windows 11 25H2 26200.9267 using a Logitech Wireless Mouse and the same thing is happening here.

Thank you for sharing this. Could you confirm whether your device is currently enrolled in the Windows Insider Program, and if so, which Insider channel you’re using? This will help determine whether the behavior may be related to an Insider build.
