I purchased and downloaded Visio 2024 Professional but installed it to a free microsoft account rather than my business account

During installation I inadvertently associated Visio with my old, free Microsoft 365 account instead of my current business account. How can I associate it with my active business account?

    Dear @John Dahlberg,

Based on the information provided, it appears that Visio 2024 Professional was accidentally associated with an older personal Microsoft account during the activation process instead of your current business account. Unfortunately, once a Visio perpetual license has been redeemed and linked to a Microsoft account, it cannot typically be reassigned through the account settings alone.

To have the license reviewed and potentially transferred to your active business account, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support directly, as they are the only team with the necessary access to validate the purchase and make licensing changes when applicable.

Before contacting support, please have the following information available:

    • Proof of purchase or order number
    • Product key (if applicable)
    • The email address of the Microsoft account currently associated with Visio
    • The email address of the business account you would like to use

You can contact Microsoft Support using these ways:

1> Customer service phone number: Please refer to the article to calling corresponding the Microsoft Phone Support to get further assistance according to your region. Contact Microsoft customer support | Microsoft Support

2> Raising support ticket to contact Microsoft Support:

You can follow the steps to contact Microsoft Support:

Use your personal account to sign in to this link: Contact - Microsoft Support

Describe the issue in the search box and click Get Help, scroll to the bottom of the window and click Contact Support

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. I understand you were expecting to use Visio with your business account, and I appreciate your patience.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction.
