I cannot access my Microsoft 365 Business Account

I am paying for a subscription but when I put in my email address it says it is not found on the system. I have a Primary Tenant Id, so I should have access to the system. How can I login when it will not accept the email address?

Hi Wilson,

For your concern, may I ask whether you're using your personal account or the .onmicrosoft account?

When a Microsoft 365 tenant is created, Microsoft automatically assigns a default tenant domain in the format tenantname.onmicrosoft.com. This onmicrosoft.com domain is used as the foundational sign‑in identity for the tenant, particularly for administrative access and subscription management.

Therefore, I suggest you try searching your inbox for keywords like “Microsoft” or “onmicrosoft.com” to locate the confirmation email that has the credential details of your account that associated with onmicrosoft.com domain. You can also check your Deleted items folder just in case you accidentally deleted that email.

Please note that the email address used for purchasing and receiving notifications is not the same as the account used for your business subscription.

I do not have any of that information in my email account. I am not sure what email address was used to setup the account. I do see the email where the Tenant Id was sent.

Is there a way to find out the login information from the Tenant Id?

For your concern, having a Tenant ID confirms that a Microsoft 365 tenant exists, but it does not identify the username required to sign in. Normally, after purchasing a subscription, you should receive an email from Microsoft that includes the account credentials (******@companyname.onmicrosoft.com) that associated with the subscription you bought earlier.

If you cannot identify the account at all, please gather any available information such as:

Subscription/order number

Tenant ID

Billing email address

Purchase confirmation emails

Payment details

In this situation as the original administrator username cannot be identified and no recovery methods are available, unfortunately there is nothing can be done from my side to assist you further and only Microsoft's Data Protection Team can help you with ownership verification. During the phone call, you will need to provide the information associated with your subscription that I asked you to collect earlier, such as Tenant ID, billing details, email address, etc. This information allows the Data Protection team to verify your identity and securely assist you in regaining access to your administrator account.
