Open the old Control Panel.
Set View at the top to large icons.
Open the Power Options applet.
What Power Plan is your system set to, and what other power plans are available in there.

On the left of Control Panel, click 'Choose what the power buttons do'
At the top right, click 'Change settings that are currently unavailable'.
At the bottom enable the Hibernations setting.
Then, rather than putting your PC to sleep, choose to hibernate your system, do the fans continue to run at high speed when your system is hibernating.

Open Task Manager.
Select the Processes tab and leave that window open to monitor your system.
When your fans are running at a high speed, please provide a screenshot of that window.
