When I go to app, i.e. Excel, it's telling me that I need to login to Microsoft 365. It says my 2019 Excel does not support app. I used product key through my account but can't use software on my mac. Please advise.

It sounds like you had Office 2019 on the old Mac but did not fully remove it before transferring its content [probably using Apple's Migration Assistant] to the new Mac. If that's the case the Office 2019 License was transferred to the new Mac.

Use the instructions here which should correct the Licensing: Remove Office license

If you are running Big Sur or earlier, Microsoft has reduced Office 2019 to view-only status, which is why your previous version stopped working. Here is Microsoft's page announcing their abandonment of users on older Macs, with disingenuous advice about upgrading your macOS version: Update Microsoft 365 or Office on your macOS or iOS device
If you are running Monterey or newer and are using Office 2021 or better, you may be experiencing a bug in a recent update. Please try the steps on this page: Unknown Error 0x0 or License not found error in Microsoft 365 or Office running on macOS
