I am writing to request the cancellation of a subscription that is currently being billed to our credit card. Unfortunately, we do not have access to the login credentials for this account and only possess the payment details.

Could you please assist us in locating the account associated with our payment method and stopping all future charges? Please let us know what specific card information or verification you need from our end to proceed with the cancellation.

    Hi Mega,

Thank you for sharing the details of your situation.

As this is a user to user support forum, I’m not part of the Microsoft billing team, so I don’t have the ability to directly cancel subscriptions or intervene on billing matters. That said, I truly hope I can help review your situation, offer some guidance, and support you in finding the right next steps as best as possible.

If this subscription belongs to an organization or business tenant, you may also want to check with an administrator within your organization who has access to billing information, such as a Global Administrator, Billing Administrator, internal IT admin, or Microsoft 365 admin. They are usually the people who can access subscription and billing details for the organization, and if they have the required permissions, they may be able to sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center, review the subscription, check the billing account or payment method, and manage the subscription cancellation.

However, if you are the only administrator, or if no one in your organization has access to the billing account or the related login credentials, then contacting Microsoft Billing Support directly would be the best next step. They can help review the payment details securely, verify ownership, and advise on the available options to locate the subscription and stop future charges.

Here are some tips and an example of a prompt to help you navigate the IVR more effectively:

(When you call the support number, you may hear an introduction of about 30 seconds such as "you can visit the link...". You can ignore this introduction and wait until you are presented with the options. Then press "1" as a business email user, and again "1" for technical help.)

In some regions, the initial interaction may be automated, so here’s a general idea of how the conversation might go to help you prepare:

    • What kind of problem are you experiencing?
    • Answer: Billing issue
    • What products do you use?
    • Answer: Office 365 for business
    • Is this for an education or company account?
    • Answer: For companies
    • Are you an administrator?
    • Answer: Yes
    • Are there any other administrators in your organization?
    • Answer: No. I am the only admin in my tenant
    • Do you need a... Service request?
    • Answer: Yes. I need to create a ticket. Please send me direct to the Billing Support Teams.

When reaching out to Microsoft Billing Support, please include as much of the following information as possible:

    • The last 4 digits of the credit card being charged
    • The cardholder name
    • The billing date
    • The billing amount
    • The currency
    • The billing descriptor shown on your bank or credit card statement
    • Any invoice number, transaction ID, or payment reference, if available
    • Any email address that may have been used to create or manage the subscription

For security reasons, please do not share the full credit card number, CVV, password, OTP, or complete banking details in a public forum.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
