Configuration Migration Tool installs successfully but won't launch (PAC CLI / Power Platform)

Hi all,

I'm trying to use the Configuration Migration Tool for a Dynamics 365 Field Service / Dataverse data migration.

I installed the tool via PAC CLI: pac tool cmt

The installation completed successfully and reported: Installation complete

Launched CMT (9.1.0.365)

The Start Menu shortcut was created and I can see the application listed as "Configuration Migration Tool" (see attached screenshot).

However:

  • Clicking Open does nothing
  • Running as Administrator does nothing
  • Launching DataMigrationUtility.exe directly from the install folder does nothing
  • No UI/window appears
  • No error message is displayed

There is an error in the latest version.

Workaround

nuget Install Microsoft.CrmSdk.XrmTooling.ConfigurationMigration.Wpf -Version 9.1.0.185

C:\Users\Admin.nuget\Packages\Microsoft.CrmSdk.XrmTooling.ConfigurationMigration.Wpf\9.1.0.185\Tools\DataMigrationUtility.exe
