How do I add my phone number to my account to i can recover it when needed? I do not have the option to add when I go into my info/profile

Microsoft has removed the ability to add a phone number to a personal account, as either an account alias or a verification method.

    You can manage the recovery/sign-in methods for your Microsoft account here: https://account.live.com/SignInPreferences

    Sign in with the affected Outlook.com account, then check whether you have an option to add a phone number or another verification method.

    Please let me know:

    1. Do you see Add a new way to sign in or verify on that page?
    2. If you try to add the phone number, what exactly happens or what message do you get?
