Windows 11 reactivated as Home instead of Pro

I had to reinstall Windows 11 on my laptop. When I reinstalled it, it reinstalled and activated as Home instead of Pro. How do I fix this?

Just to confirm, did you change or replace major hardware on the PC before reinstalling it? Did you reinstall it from scratch by using Windows 11 Bootable media?

Note: Before doing any steps, verify the version by going to:

Settings > System > About

Under Windows specifications, check the Windows Version and Edition.

Step 1. I recommend upgrading back by following the steps below:

    This usually happens because the Windows setup automatically detects the original Windows Home product key embedded in your laptop's motherboard (BIOS) and installs that version by default without giving you a choice.

    You can upgrade it back to Pro without having to reinstall everything again. Here is how to fix it:

    Disconnect your laptop completely from the internet (turn off Wi-Fi or unplug your cable). This step is important so the activation servers don't block the upgrade.

    Go to Settings > System > Activation.

    1. Click on Change product key and enter the generic Microsoft Pro key: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

    Click Next and then Start. Your laptop will process the upgrade and restart.

    1. Once you are back on your desktop, reconnect to the internet.

    Go back to the Activation screen. If your Windows 11 Pro digital license is linked to your Microsoft account, it should activate automatically. If it doesn't, you can click Troubleshoot or enter your specific Pro key if you bought one separately
