I earned the Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) certification on March 31, 2026, and it is active on my transcript until April 1, 2027. I am scheduled to sit for Exam AB-100 on September 16, 2026. Can you please confirm that my active AI-102 credential fulfills the prerequisite requirement to award the Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect credential upon passing AB-100, even though exam AI-102 was retired from new candidate offerings? I see its not listed as prerequisite anymore, please share with any pointers.

Hi @Julian Sharp Thanks for your answer, AI 102 was there few weeks back as prerequisite and now it is gone, according to study guide there were minor to no changes to curriculum, if that's the case then they should not have removed AI 102 abruptly. If this was already mentioned, I would have waited for few weeks and taken AI 103 instead, I paid for the certification and I am at loss here.
The Azure AI Engineer certification was retired at the end of June and hence it has been removed as a prerequisite for the Agentic AI Business Solution Architect Expert certification. Azure AI Engineer certification was valid until that certification was retired. It is common for retired certifications to be removed as qualifying for expert level certifications.
hi @Julian Sharp Thanks again for your reply, I saw it available in july as prerequisite, my point is they should have clearly mentioned that post retirement, it will not be pre requisite for expert certification. that's not an impossible task I guess.
