I have got the same issue on Windows Server 2012 R2.

After force update by Microsoft store. the RDCMan display was having issue when connect to Windows Server 2008R2. The mouse pointer will display upside down and the screen will black out screen when switching between Server connection.

Burness, Andy 1 Reputation point2026-08-18T09:33:37.87+00:00 I see the same issue of upside down mouse cursor inside the remote desktop session, when connecting from a Windows 11 client to a Windows Server 2016 server using RDCMan 3.20. It doesn't make a difference when changing the mouse pointer in main.cpl inside the remote desktop session.

But it also appears inconsistent, because a different 2012 server has the standard mouse cursor. (Both are non-R2)
In addition, if I connect to the 2012 server that has a normal cursor, but then connect from that server to an old 2008 box, the cursor changes to the inverted version when it is over the 2008 RDP window and back to normal when outside it. So somehow this inverted cursor is able to detect nested RDP sessions.
Could have to do with connections made to clients lacking a certain security update?

2026-08-26T08:00:22.6666667+00:00 +1 that the issue still occurs in version 3.21. I found that a workaround is, in main.cpl inside the remote desktop session, to enable the "enable pointer shadow" setting - then the mouse cursor appears in the correct orientation.
