Additional assignment-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for Education
Teams shows the most recent turn-in timestamp on a completed assignment. In the Completed tab, the Turned in status displays the time and date stamp of the most recent turn-in. If Undo turn in was used and the assignment was submitted again, the visible timestamp reflects that later submission.
What can be checked:
- Open the class team and select Assignments.
- Open the assignment from the Completed tab.
- Review the assignment status:
- Turned in shows the time and date of the most recent turn-in.
- Undo turn in is available only when the educator has not returned the work yet and submissions are still open.
- Turn in again appears if the educator returned the assignment and is still accepting submissions.
Based on the available information, there is no documented student view that shows a full submission history with all prior turn-in times after an undo and resubmission.
For evidence of the earlier on-time attempt, the available guidance is to gather proof from the student side, such as:
- screenshots or screen recordings of the assignment page,
- browser history showing access to the submission page before the deadline,
- any visible loading or error state at that time.
The educator or school IT department may also be able to check logs for login times, upload attempts, or failed submission attempts.
