I am running Windows 11 Home Insider Preview Single Language, Version 26H2, OS Build 26300.8758.

My build has expired and VirtualBox 7.2.14 fails to start because C:\Windows\System32\ntdll.dll has an expired Insider certificate (VERR_CR_X509_CPV_NOT_VALID_AT_TIME).

Microsoft’s certificate-renewal guidance says Experimental 26H2 requires build 26300.9032 or newer. However, Windows Update says “You’re up to date” and does not offer that build. The 26300.8758 repair update repeatedly fails with CERT_E_EXPIRED, and the official Insider ISO page does not offer 26300.9032.

What is the supported way to move this device to a certificate-renewed build without a clean installation or losing my files and applications?

Build 26300.9032 or later is required because it contains the renewed Windows Insider flight certificate.

However, since Windows Update is not offering the build and Microsoft does not currently provide a matching Experimental-channel ISO, I could not find a supported in-place recovery method that is guaranteed to preserve your applications and files after the certificate has already expired.

Please back up your files immediately. If Microsoft makes a newer Experimental ISO available, you may be able to mount it and run Setup from within Windows while choosing to keep personal files and apps. Until then, a clean installation may unfortunately be the only reliable recovery path.

I would not recommend changing the system date or bypassing certificate validation.
