In Outlook, you can select an email and use the "Report Message" feature to mark it as junk or phishing. If I highlight a message and then use Shift to select multiple emails in the junk folder, will all the selected messages be reported as phishing and blocked?

Or can you only report phishing and have them blocked on only one email at a time?

Yes. In supported versions of Outlook, multiple selected messages can be reported at once by selecting one or more messages, then Report > Report phishing or Report junk.

For messages in the Junk Email folder, the built-in Report button supports Not junk, not Report phishing. Messages reported as Not junk are moved out of Junk Email to the Inbox.

    For the built-in Report button:

    • When multiple messages or an email thread are reported, each message is submitted as a separate, individual report.
    • If messages are reported as junk, they are moved to Junk Email and the sender is automatically added to the user’s Blocked Senders list.
    • If messages are reported as phishing, the messages are deleted.

    Important distinction:

    • Report phishing does not mean the sender is automatically blocked in Outlook.com. Reporting a message as phishing reports the sender, but to actually block a sender, the sender must be added to the blocked senders list.

    So the direct answer is:

    • Multiple messages can be reported in one action.
    • Each selected message is processed individually.
    • Automatic blocking is documented for messages reported as junk, not for phishing.
    • In the Junk Email folder, the documented bulk action is Not junk, not phishing.
