I just redeem a giftcard and it send me a 6 digit code in my email. What should i do with it?

That 6-digit code is typically a verification code, not the gift card itself.

What to do:

1. Open the Microsoft Rewards or redemption flow that asked for phone or account verification.
2. Enter the 6-digit code exactly as it appears in the email.
3. After verification completes, check whether the reward shows in Order History.
4. In Order Details, look for the actual gift card code, redemption link, or use Resend to send the confirmation email again.

If the reward was a Microsoft or Xbox gift card, the value may be added directly to the Microsoft account balance instead of requiring another redemption step.

If the reward is still In progress, wait up to 24 hours for processing and for the confirmation email with the actual code or link.

If after 24 hours there is still no code, no balance increase, and nothing useful in Order History, contact Microsoft Rewards Support.
