Copilot narration can be saved as an MP3 in supported audio overview experiences.
For Word or Word for the web:
- Open the document in Word.
- Open Copilot from the Home tab.
- Generate the audio overview.
- In the audio player, select Expand more options (...).
- Select Save to OneDrive.
For OneDrive audio overviews:
- The saved audio overview is stored as an mp3 in the Recordings folder.
- Save to OneDrive is available only for non-encrypted files.
- If the file is encrypted, the audio overview cannot be saved.
Important limits:
- Supported for English files only.
- The file must have at least 200 words.
- Generation can take a few minutes.
- Audio overview generation may be subject to daily usage limits.
If the goal is to extract narration from a video created in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, that flow is different: open the video in Clipchamp with Edit in Clipchamp, then Export it. The provided content does not describe exporting audio-only MP3 directly from that Copilot video flow.
