Office for iMac with Ventura

For an iMac on macOS Ventura 13.7.8, the supported Office build is version 16.101. That is the last build that supports macOS Ventura (13).

Key points:

• Microsoft 365 for Mac supports the three most recent major versions of macOS.
• Starting with the September 2025 update (16.101), macOS Sonoma or later is required to keep receiving updates.
• On Ventura, Office apps can still work, but no newer updates, including security updates, will be delivered after 16.101.

How to obtain and install it on the Mac:

1. Download the Office for Mac installer package for the supported Ventura build.
2. Open Finder > Downloads and double-click the installer package.
3. Select Continue through the installer screens.
4. Accept the license agreement.
5. Choose the install options, then select Install.
6. Enter the Mac login password if prompted.
7. When installation finishes, open Launchpad and start Microsoft Word to begin activation.
8. In the What’s New window, select Get Started.

If a newer installer says macOS 14 or later is required, use the Ventura-supported build instead of the current latest installer.
