I need to be removed from my family safety group

I am a listed as a child account under my family group but i need to be removed. However, i am estranged from the group organizers and cannot get into contact with them.

Unfortunately, if your account is listed as a child/member in the Microsoft Family group, you cannot remove yourself from the group. Only a family organizer can remove you.

Since you cannot contact the organizers, there is no self-service option to bypass this from the child account.

To help narrow down the issue:

Are you currently 18 or older?

Is the date of birth on your Microsoft account correct?

Unfortunately, even though you are now an adult and your date of birth is correct, you cannot remove yourself while your account is still listed as a member/child in that Family group.

Only one of the family organizers can remove your account. Microsoft does not provide another self-service option to bypass the organizer and leave the group.

Since you are unable to contact the organizers, there unfortunately isn't another supported way to remove that account from the existing Family group.
