can't download ms word files from onedrive to my desktop

I am paying 10.00 a month for MS 365 as an individual user. MS only opens on my onedrive. And it won't le me download or save to my desktop via downloads or anything else. I use duckduckgo. NOT google. This does not work for me at all if I can't download documents. and upload them to websites I am applying to for jobs.

Do you have the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription? It should definitely let you save locally.

    Use one of these supported ways to get the Word file onto the PC:

    1. In OneDrive on the web, select the Word file.
    2. Select Download from the top menu.
    3. If the browser asks, choose Save or Save As and pick a folder on the PC such as Desktop or Downloads.

    1. Go to File > Create a Copy.
