Hi
It depends on how this custom disk space monitor was created, so first we need a little more information.
Could you please check the following?
- Open the monitor in the SCOM console.
- Right-click it and select Overrides → Override the Monitor.
- Tell us what settings you see there, or simply post a screenshot.
The most important question is whether you can see settings related to disk space, for example:
- Free Space %
- Free Space MB
- Threshold
- Warning/Critical value
If you can see such values, then this is probably easy: you can create an override and change the disk-space threshold without changing the monitor itself.
If you cannot see any disk-space threshold in the Overrides window, then the value may have been built directly into the custom monitor. In that case, the monitor itself may need to be changed.
It would also help if you could tell us:
- What SCOM version are you using?
- What exactly do you want to change? For example, alert at 10% free space instead of 15%?
- Was this monitor created by you, by your company, or by somebody else?
- If possible, post a screenshot of the monitor properties and the available overrides.
Once we see the available override settings, we can tell you exactly what needs to be changed.
Important: Do not start modifying the Management Pack XML yet. First check whether the required setting is already available as an override — in many cases that is all you need.
Regards
