Does Exam AZ-400 include hands-on labs in the version updated on 27 July 2026?

Hi,

I am scheduled to sit Exam AZ-400 (Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions). The skills measured were updated on 27 July 2026.

I want to confirm the question formats before my appointment.

Several third-party websites state that AZ-400 includes hands-on labs in a live Azure environment. However, I cannot find any mention of a lab on the official pages:

Neither page mentions a lab section - only the passing score of 700.

Could someone from Microsoft please confirm:

  1. Does the current AZ-400 exam (updated 27 July 2026) include a hands-on lab section?
  2. If not, which question types should I expect (multiple choice, drag and drop, hot area, case study, etc.)?

Because labs can be removed at any time due to Azure outages, bandwidth issues, etc., Microsoft does not provide a list of exams with labs. When you register for the exam, you will be provided with the exam time. When you launch the exam, carefully review the overview pages that provide information about what to expect on the exam, including if labs are available.
