RDCMan does not provide Hyper-V VMConnect Enhanced Session Mode support.
RDCMan is a Remote Desktop connection manager for managing multiple RDP sessions. Hyper-V Enhanced Session Mode is a VMConnect capability that uses RDP for Windows VMs and enables features such as shared clipboard, file copy/paste, audio, USB devices, drives, and printers. Those features are available through VMConnect when Enhanced Session Mode is enabled and the VM meets the requirements.
If Enhanced Session Mode features are required for Hyper-V virtual machines, use VMConnect instead of RDCMan. Relevant VMConnect options include:
- Check whether Enhanced Session Mode is available by using the Enhanced Session Mode icon on the VMConnect toolbar.
- Use host local resources in the VM by turning on Enhanced Session Mode on the Hyper-V host, then selecting the local resources before connecting.
- Edit saved VMConnect settings with:
VMConnect.exe <ServerName> <VMName> /edit
For general remote desktop management, Microsoft also recommends using the built-in Remote Desktop Connection client (%windir%\system32\mstsc.exe) or the universal Remote Desktop client instead of RDCMan.
