Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams Free categories
Hi Patrick Cobb,
I understand that your personal Microsoft account and Teams profile appear active on your side, while other people see you as “Deactivated User.”
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access or change the status of your Teams Free profile.
Changing the email address does not create a new Teams Free profile because the new alias remains connected to the same Microsoft account. First, sign out of Teams on all devices, close the app, and then sign back in using the new primary email address. Microsoft recommends signing out and back in after changing the email so that the change is reflected in Teams Free. Change your email address in Microsoft Teams Free | Microsoft Support
If other people still see “Deactivated User,” use the "Contact support" option at the end of the Microsoft Teams Free help page and explain that the personal account is active, but the Teams Free profile appears deactivated to other users.
I hope this helps clarify the appropriate next step.
