My microsoft account was hacked few weeks ago through my outlook app. Hacked changed the primary email, password and removed my phone number.

I have the new email that they added from the security emails. I’m still logged into my outlook app with my gmail but I’m unable to get into my Microsoft account or outlook from other devices to recover it.

The recovery page doesn’t work as I’ve tried to submit form many times. Is there any way to recover the Microsoft account? Any support I can contact?

I understand how important your account is to you, so I’m going to be honest. If the email address has been changed and two-factor authentication has been enabled by the hacker, unfortunately, the account may no longer be recoverable.

Just to confirm:

Try searching for the account using these steps from Microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/forgotten-your-microsoft-account-username-b2049472-3b8f-27d3-61c6-67a668453f4c

Click on "Search" and follow the instructions provided.

If you receive any error messages, such as “account doesn’t exist” or anything else, please let me know.

I tried providing my email in the search, and it sent the code to that compromised email to log me in. But I didn’t get any code in my email. Hacker somehow disabled that email. Its very strange.

In that case, unfortunately, recovery may no longer be possible.

As a last resort, do you happen to have your account still signed in on an Xbox console or another device?

@John Jefferson Doyon I believe not. I’ll check my PC just in case.

Its strange that that same email I have been using for 20 years was taken off my account by hackers and Microsoft cant recover it, even when the hacker’s domain is clearly malicious.

Do you remember doing anything unusual before this happened, such as joining a Discord server, clicking a link, downloading something, or signing in to any third-party service with your Microsoft account?

Yes. The supported recovery path is:

Start with the Sign-in Helper. It can guide to self-help steps or offer the chance to talk to an agent: Start
If the account is still inaccessible, use the Microsoft account recovery form from a device and location previously used to sign in to that account, if possible. Include as much detail as possible:
- old passwords used on the account
- Outlook.com/Hotmail contacts and exact email subject lines
- Skype details, if used
- Xbox console hardware ID, if used
- a working email address for the recovery response
Since the recovery form has already been tried many times, improve the submission quality:
- use a familiar device and usual location such as home or office
- answer as many questions as possible; guessing is allowed and wrong answers do not count against the request
- if the original address is not recognized, check the exact domain and spelling, and try any other alias or phone number previously on the account
After submitting the recovery form, the result is sent to the working email provided within 24 hours. If verification fails, the form can be retried up to two times per day.
If the account is temporarily blocked because of unusual sign-in activity, use the Sign-in Helper to unblock it: Sign-in Helper
If the username is no longer recognized or the account still cannot be recovered, use Microsoft support contact: Contact support

Important limits:

If two-step verification is turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or change account details.
If the hacker changed the primary email, the recovery form and sign-in helper remain the official recovery options.

Once access is restored, immediately:

run a full malware scan on the PC before changing the password
change or reset the password
review connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies
