    Try these steps in order:

    1. Check the network icon on the taskbar.
      • If it shows No Internet, select the Network, Sound, or Battery icon and confirm Wi‑Fi is turned on.
      • Make sure the correct Wi‑Fi network shows Connected.
    2. Check Airplane mode.
      • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane mode.
      • Make sure it is Off.
    3. Run the Windows network troubleshooter.
      • In Windows 11, start the automated Network and Internet troubleshooter in the Get Help app.
      • In Settings, the troubleshooter path is Start > Settings > Network and Internet > Status > Network troubleshooter.
    4. Turn Wi‑Fi off and back on, then reconnect.
    5. Forget and reconnect to the Wi‑Fi network.
      • Go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi‑Fi > Manage known networks.
      • Select the Wi‑Fi network, choose Forget, then reconnect and enter the password again.
    6. Restart the modem and wireless router.
      • Unplug the router and modem from power.
      • Wait at least 30 seconds.
      • Plug the modem back in and wait for the lights to stop blinking.
      • Plug the router back in and wait a few minutes.
      • Try connecting again.
      • Note: everyone using that Wi‑Fi will be temporarily disconnected.
    7. If Wi‑Fi says connected but there is still no internet, try these Command Prompt steps as Administrator:
      • ipconfig /release
      • ipconfig /renew
      • ipconfig /flushdns
    8. Check proxy settings.
      • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
      • Turn off any manual proxy settings.
    9. Check the IP address.
      • If the IP address looks like 169.254.x.x, Windows did not get an IP address from the router. In that case, check that DHCP is enabled on the router.
    10. If no Wi‑Fi networks appear at all:
    • Go to Settings > Network & internet and make sure Wi‑Fi is turned on.
    • If the device has a physical Wi‑Fi switch, make sure it is on.
    • In Device Manager > Network adapters > wireless adapter > Properties > Advanced, check that Wireless Mode or Band allows the network frequency.

If the problem started after a recent update and the connection still fails, reinstalling the network adapter driver can help. This removes the driver temporarily, so have a backup driver available first if possible.

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand Network adapters.
    • Right-click the network adapter and select Uninstall device.
    • Restart the PC so Windows reinstalls the driver.
