Changing between multiple Teams Free accounts within the app or browser
To join on mobile, the key part is that the invited organization appears as another account or org inside Teams after the personal Microsoft account is added.
Use this flow:
- Create or use a personal Microsoft account.
- In Teams Free, a personal account is different from a work or school account.
- Open the Teams app on the phone.
- Sign in with the personal Microsoft account that was used for the class invitation.
- Enter the email address, phone number, or Skype name.
- Enter the password and complete sign-in.
- If already signed in with another account, add the personal account instead of replacing the current one.
- Open Teams.
- Tap the profile picture or More.
- Tap Add account.
- Enter the sign-in information for the personal account and finish sign-in.
- Switch to the invited organization or account.
- Open Teams.
- Tap the profile picture or More.
- Under Accounts and Orgs, select the account or org to switch to.
- If the invitation has been applied correctly, the ELSL org should appear there.
- If Teams does not show the org on mobile, sign out and sign back in.
- Open Teams.
- Tap the profile picture.
- Tap Sign out.
- Sign in again with the same personal Microsoft account.
- Then check the account/org list again.
- If using one app for both personal and work/school access, switching is done from the profile picture.
- After signing in to both, select the profile picture and choose the account to use.
If the ELSL option still does not appear on the phone, use the desktop app first with the same personal Microsoft account, then check mobile again. Teams supports adding another account and switching between personal, work, and school accounts from the profile menu.
