Microsoft project management software used to plan, manage, and communicate a project schedule and other information among workgroup members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
If Planner or Project does not appear in the apps list, the most common causes are:
- The organization has not turned the app on for the account.
- The required license or service has not been assigned.
- The organization manages app installation centrally, so self-service install is not available.
For Planner:
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 home page.
- Open the app launcher.
- Look for Planner.
- If it is not visible, select More apps and then All apps.
- Planner can also be added in Teams: go to Apps, search for Planner, and select Add.
- If Planner still does not appear, the organization might not have the app turned on, so the Microsoft 365 administrator needs to enable it.
For Project desktop client:
- The download option appears only when the account has the correct Project license and the Project Online Desktop Client service is enabled.
- Sign in at office.com.
- Go to Apps > Install apps > Microsoft 365 apps.
- In the install window, select Project if it is offered.
- If Project is missing there, ask the Microsoft 365 admin to check the assigned license and confirm that Project Online Desktop Client is turned on under Licenses and Apps.
- Some organizations deploy Project with tools such as ODT, Intune, or SCCM instead of allowing direct download.
If the goal is only to access assigned apps, the My Apps portal can also be checked from the My Account portal by selecting My Apps. If access to that portal is blocked, the organization’s Help desk must grant permission.
