A cloud-based task management app from Microsoft that helps users organize and manage daily tasks across devices.
If the password is correct but sign-in is blocked because verification cannot be completed, the supported recovery path is:
- Start with the Sign-in Helper. It checks the account details entered and tells what action is needed.
- If recovery is still required, use the Account recovery form.
- Complete the recovery form from a device previously used to sign in to that account and from a familiar location such as home or office.
- Provide as much detail as possible. Wrong guesses do not count against the request. Helpful details can include:
- old passwords used on the account
- exact Outlook.com or Hotmail.com email subject lines
- contacts that were emailed from the account
- Skype ID, contacts, or recent Skype purchase details if used
- Xbox console hardware ID from a console frequently used with the account
- A working email address is required so Microsoft can respond about the recovery request.
- Microsoft reviews recovery form answers and responds within 24 hours.
Important limits:
- If two-step verification is turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, support agents cannot send password reset links or change account details.
- If the account has not been signed in to for more than two years, it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.
- If the username is no longer recognized or the message says the account does not exist, use the Sign-in Helper first.
- Support can be contacted for technical support, but support agents cannot send verification codes, send password reset links, or access and change account details.
Since multiple recovery forms were already submitted unsuccessfully, the best supported way to improve the next attempt is to submit it again only after adding more exact historical details and using a familiar device and location.
